Otters at Loch Lomond’s Sea Life centre enjoyed ‘fang-tastic’ Hallowe’en festivities as they played with pumpkins and searched for treats.

The Asian short-clawed otters were given pumpkins filled with goodies that they could eat as staff made sure they didn’t miss out on celebrating Hallowe’en.

The smart animals had no problems finding and snacking on the rewards found inside their pumpkins.

A representative from Sea Life said: “At Sea Life Loch Lomond it’s no surprise that the playful Asian short-clawed otters had a ‘fang-tastic’ time rummaging inside their pumpkins.

“These clever creatures are able to complete complex enrichment tasks, so it’s no wonder they foraged for the treats with ease.”

Loch Lomond’s otters were given the pumpkins as part of an enrichment programme which also saw penguins, ants, iguanas and seals enjoyed pumpkin treats at centres across the UK.
