A Helensburgh group is “thrilled” to have booked an exciting music group for their first concert of 2024.
The Korça Ensemble will play in the Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre on Sunday, January 7 at 7.30pm as part of the Helensburgh Music Society’s concert programme.
The show will feature a diverse programme of music for clarinet, violin and piano - including works by Milhaud, Ravel, Khachaturian, and Irving Berlin.
A spokesperson said: “Helensburgh Music Society had to abandon their first concert of the season in October due to bad weather and significant transport disruption.
“In our quest to replace that concert, we have been extremely fortunate to secure a booking with the Korça Ensemble, an exciting young trio based in Glasgow.
“We are thrilled that they have agreed to play at such short notice.
“The society looks forward to welcoming you in the intimate surroundings of the beautiful hall at the Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre complex.
“This promises to be a very engaging and exciting evening so please book early to avoid disappointment.”
Comprisng Jenny Stephenson, Gent Koço, and Christopher Baxter, the Korça Ensemble was formed in 2015, though the three players have worked together on numerous collaborations over the years.
Tickets cost £15 for general entry, £5 for students, and £1 for under 18s.
They are available via the society’s website - www.helensburghmusicsociety.org.uk - and can be purchased on the door from 6.45pm.
Also available on the website are season tickets which are priced at £50 - saving 30 per cent for all five concerts in the season.
