A Kilcreggan couple have tied the knot during a “very impromptu” ceremony in Helensburgh - after nearly 40 years together.
After 38 years as a couple and just a week of planning, Susie Will and David Weatherstone were wed in the Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre on Thursday, December 14.
Friends from near and far – with some coming from London and Aviemore – arrived on short notice to visit the newlyweds and party in the Commodore Hotel after the ceremony.
Susie said: “It was a very impromptu decision, but it turned out great because of the people at the registrar office.
“It was not meant to be such a big deal, but it grew arms and legs and it went on to be a right old rammy that went on til midnight in the Commodore.
“It worked really well and it was just like a wee house party really – everyone really enjoyed it.”
Susie and David both work in film and television, with Susie working as a costume designer and David working in the prop department.
Susie is also known for her work as a community councillor and as one of the founders of the Cove Youth Café.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
