HELENSBURGH residents are being advised of changes to bus and train services in the area over the New Year holiday period.

There will be no public transport in the area on New Year’s Day, while timetables on both train and bus services in Helensburgh and Lomond will be amended on Hogmanay and Tuesday, January 2.

ScotRail’s services to and from Helensburgh will finish early on Hogmanay; the last train from Helensburgh Central is the 9.25pm to Airdrie, while the last train to Helensburgh will leave Glasgow Queen Street at 9.54pm, arriving in Helensburgh at 10.46pm.

There are no trains to or from Helensburgh Central, or any stations on the West Highland line, on Tuesday, January 2 because of engineering works at Craigendoran.

A replacement bus will operate between Helensburgh Central and Dumbarton Central, calling at Craigendoran, Cardross and Dalreoch, while there will also be a replacement bus between Glasgow Queen Street and Crianlarich for West Highland line trains.

A normal service resumes on all lines on January 3.
