A trunk road connecting Helensburgh and Lomond to Dumbarton will be closed for three nights later this month.

The A82 between Stoneymollan Roundabout and Lomondgate Roundabout will shut from Monday, January 29 until Wednesday, January 31 between 8pm and 6am – with a signed diversion put in place.

On Monday, January 29, northbound traffic will be directed to exit the A82 at Lomondgate Roundabout and follow the A813 to the A811, where they will reach Stoneymollan Roundabout and be able to rejoin the A82.

While the road is closed, there will be no access to the A82 northbound off-slip towards Renton.

On Tuesday, January 30 and Wednesday, January 31, southbound traffic will follow the above diversion but in reverse and the A82 southbound on-slip from Renton will remain open.

Emergency service vehicles will be able to access the roads throughout the duration of the works.

During the closures, trunk road maintenance company Amey will undertake bridge deck investigations on behalf of Transport Scotland to determine the condition of the bridge structure and help the development of the planned bridge refurbishment scheme.
