The owners of an Arrochar hotel have announced that staff will benefit from a share of over £270,000, thanks to a profit-sharing scheme.

Manorview, the owners of The Tarbet Hotel near Loch Lomond, are set to distribute £273,560 among 471 team members through their Heartcount scheme.

This initiative enables employees with more than 12 months of service to receive a portion of 10% of Manorview’s net profits, with individual shares determined by the number of hours worked over the year.

David Tracey, managing director of Manorview, said: “Fairness is at the heart of our decisions.

“Every person in every role across our business impacts our success, so it’s right that profit is shared in a fair way.

“The calculation process ultimately means that it doesn’t matter whether someone is a kitchen porter, bar team, wedding sales manager, general manager, housekeeper, or director – if they’ve worked the same hours, they get the same profit share.”

The group announced the profit share on Thursday, January 25, during a team party at The Arches in Glasgow.

Steve Graham, chairman of Manorview, said: “We close all our venues so that every team member can attend.

“It’s fantastic to get everyone together to show our thanks and appreciation and celebrate what can be achieved as a team.

“I’m delighted that we can once again share profits with our team members. They do so much for our guests and our communities, and thoroughly deserve it.”

The profit share is the biggest Manorview has ever had – having divvied the previous record of £162,479 with the team in January 2023.

The Tarbet Hotel was bought by Manorview in September 2023 and was previously owned by Bespoke Hotels who bought the business in 2020.

Prior to this, Bay Hotels owned the business, but their owners Specialist Leisure Group fell into administration in early 2020, causing The Tarbet Hotel to close in May of that year and reopen in 2021.

Manorview owns and operates 12 venues across central Scotland, including wedding venues, hotels, and restaurants.
