A CAMPBELTOWN who was found in possession of indecent photos of children has been put on the sex offenders register for a year.

Ewan McSporran, of Castleacres, previously pleaded guilty last April to possession of indecent photos or pseudo-photos of children between March 8 and October 20, 2021.

He was on bail at the time.

The 20-year-old appeared from custody at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on February 6 for setencing and was warned he was "on the very brink of a custodial sentence".

McSporran had previously been put on a community payback order (CPO) with supervision for three years in a separate case from January 2023.

His defence solicitor insisted his client had made "much better progress".

Sheriff Maxwell Hendry warned him: "You're very, very much in a situation where you are in your last chance.

"There has to be an improvement in compliance."

He imposed a CPO with supervision for one year, plus 225 hours of unpaid work in the community within that time.

He will be on the sex offenders register for the duration. A review will be held on April 23.
