A Helensburgh environmental group is encouraging locals to show their love for local “litter heroes” by nominating them for an award.
Plastic Free Helensburgh says it hopes local residents will show appreciation for people in the community who help keep the town tidy by submitting them for Keep Scotland Beautiful’s Hero of the Month Award.
As part of their Clean Up Scotland campaign, the group will be honouring the country’s top litter pickers and campaigners – with winners receiving equipment from Helping Hand Environmental.
A spokesperson from Plastic Free Helensburgh said: “We have a good number of litter heroes in Helensburgh and the local area, and it would be great to see a few of them get the thanks they deserve.
“[We] would like to encourage people if they know a local litter hero who does their bit, maybe alone or on their daily dog walk or run, to please nominate them today.
“If you know someone who deserves a Clean Up Scotland Hero award, Keep Scotland Beautiful want to recognise them.”
Nominees must meet the following criteria: they must live in Scotland, must show commitment to protecting the environment, must display active support for the campaign, and must demonstrate how they have helped improve the local environment.
All submissions must be on behalf of another person.
