A TV star will be coming to Helensburgh for a popular annual auction – and you can get involved.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution [RNLI] Helensburgh has joined forces with Great Western Auctions for another Antiques Valuation Day in benefit of the lifesaving charity.

The event, which was last held five years ago, will be hosted at Helensburgh Sailing Club on Friday, April 19.

Anita Manning - of the BBC’s Bargain Hunt - and her team of specialist valuers led by senior auctioneer and general valuer Paul Howard will be on hand on the day.

Secretary of the RNLI Helensburgh’s fundraising team, Katy Findlay, said; “We are delighted to welcome back Anita and her team from Great Western Auctions.

“Everyone can bring along their treasured items for valuation by the specialist valuers.

“We are looking forward to seeing you on the day. Your support will help our crew save lives at sea.”

The team of valuers will include specialists in general antiques, jewellery, collectors’ items, books, coins, silver, and ‘object de art’ - but all items are welcome for valuation.

Tea, coffee, and cakes will be available to the attendees and doors will be open from 10am to 2pm.

Great Western Auctions will also be reducing their commission rate on the day for anyone wishing to send an item for auction.

Tickets cost £10 and include the valuation of three items with all proceeds going to the RNLI.

Tickets will be available on the door or online via Eventbrite: Rnlihelensburghantiquesvaluation2024.eventbrite.co.uk.
