An Armed Forces charity made a visit to Faslane this week to meet personnel on the base.

Representatives of SSAFA dropped in on HMNB Clyde on Wednesday, March 20 spoke to men and women there about how the charity helps the Armed Forces community.

They also gave details of the 2024 Kiltwalk season for which SSAFA also has a record-breaking number of entries.

Sandra Miller and Scott Cunningham – respectively the charity’s corporate and special events officer and challenge and community events officer - welcomed the chance to meet personnel.

Mr Cunningham said: "Sandra and I were afforded excellent hospitality by Chief Petty Officer Murray Anderson when we visited Faslane, and it was a pleasure to meet Base Executive Officer Commander Peter Noblett and Base Warrant Officer Rattler Morgan.

“Giving Royal Navy personnel – some part way through their careers, some nearing the end, and some just setting out as ratings or junior officers – a lead on what SSAFA, the UK’s oldest tri-service charity can do for them at any point during or after their careers was a privilege – and who knows; maybe we got a few people interested in the forthcoming Kiltwalks, too.”
