Police are appealing for help to trace a man who has been reported missing from Arran.

William McKinstry, 40, was seen boarding a ferry from Arran to Troon on Tuesday, April 23.

The last known sighting of him was on Prestwick Road in Ayr around 8.10am on Wednesday, April 24.

William is described as 5ft 9” with short black hair and was wearing a dark blue top with ‘LBR Roofing’ written in white writing. 

Sergeant Martin Lawrie said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for William’s wellbeing and are appealing to anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to please get in touch.

“Our enquiries so far suggest he could be in the Ayr area however he could also have travelled elsewhere following his last known sighting.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 4020 of Tuesday, April 23, 2024.”
