The organisers of a fund-raising event in Rhu for a lifesaving charity have thanked locals for their support.
The Helensburgh Rotary Club held their Bridge with Afternoon Tea event at the Rosslea Hotel on Friday, April 19.
Thanks to the event, £600 was donated to Mercy Ships, bringing the total raised by the club for the charity to £7,500 over the years
A representative for the club said: “[We] are pleased to advise the Mercy Ships Bridge with Afternoon Tea event was a great success.
“We were delighted to be supported by over forty players giving us eleven tables.
“The revised format with afternoon tea was very well received and a very special thanks must go to the Rosslea Hall Hotel for excellent organisation in a super venue and for an outstanding afternoon tea menu.”
The overall winner was Alan Bailie, while prizes were also given out for second place and the lowest score.
The raffle was well supported with prizes donated by Rotarians, the hotel, and by players themselves.
Mercy Ships is a faith-based organisation that deploys hospital ships to people in need throughout the world, allowing for people to receive free healthcare.
