Nikolay Petkov has submitted the application for planning permission at the site at Balkan House, in Rahane, at the side of the Peaton Road.
A statement submitted with the application says that the proposed facility would “support the local economy by attracting visitors”.
Council officers are expected to rule on the plans by early September, with the public now able to view the plans and submit feedback.
A design and access statement by planning agents Glampitect said: “The proposed glamping cabins will support the local economy by attracting visitors who are likely to spend on nearby services, including cafés, restaurants, shops, and local attractions in Rahane, Garelochhead, Helensburgh, and the wider Rosneath Peninsula.
“The site will also generate indirect economic benefit through the use of local contractors for groundwork, installation, and servicing, and by sourcing materials, furnishings, and maintenance locally.
“While modest in scale, the proposal adds to the area’s visitor accommodation offering and supports economic diversification in a rural setting.
“The development has been designed to integrate sensitively within the rural character of Rahane. The four cabins are single-storey, timber-clad units that follow the site’s natural contours and are visually contained by existing and proposed vegetation.
“Visitor numbers will remain low, and the scale of activity is consistent with the quiet and dispersed nature of the surrounding settlement.
“External lighting, where required, will be minimal and directional to protect local wildlife and maintain dark skies.”
The statement added: “The proposed glamping site will provide a new and exciting accommodation option for Rahane and the surrounding area, offering a unique, relaxing and sustainable stay in nature.
“Demand for this type of rural accommodation is high throughout the country, which has also been shown to be true of other glamping sites along the west coast of Scotland and the Inner Hebrides.
“The development will increase footfall for local businesses and, through correct marketing, should increase the length of time tourists remain in the local area.
“This will be beneficial to the local economy, including tourist attractions, restaurants, other businesses and local services.
“The applicant intends to build upon relationships with local businesses in the area to offer their goods and services to guests, including taxi services, shops, cafes, and restaurants, to name but a few.
“The operator will promote these services within the cabins, along with providing the guests with local knowledge of the many beauty spots to visit, allowing them to connect with nature and the surrounding area.”
