A WELL-LOVED Helensburgh restaurant and bar has announced that it will close its doors.
Mi Tierra Grill and Cocktail Bar will be closing down on Saturday, February 14 just over a year after opening.
The Latin American restaurant and bar opened on the corner of West Clyde Street and John Street in October 2024.
They took on the site of the former award-winning Cattle and Creel and to celebrate its first birthday last year, prepared to open Mi Tierra Patisserie in the former House of Art shop.
The takeaway-only business had planned to serve cakes, coffee, sandwiches and trinkets.
The owners said that the tough decision was made after increasing UK Government costs and "rising operational pressures have made it impossible to continue in a sustainable way".
In a heartbreaking post on social media, the business said: "After much thought, and with very heavy hearts, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to close Mi Tierra.
"This was not an easy choice. We have poured our passion, creativity, and love into this space, and we are so proud of what we built together with our team and our community — including being recognised as one of the best restaurants in the area in such a short period of time, something we will always cherish.
"Before we say goodbye, we would truly love to welcome you in one last time . Valentine’s Day will be our final service, and we hope you’ll join us to celebrate the memories, the food, the drinks, and the moments shared here."
The post continued: "Sadly, ongoing UK Government cost increases and rising operational pressures have made it impossible for us to continue in a sustainable way.
"While this chapter is ending sooner than we hoped, we are deeply grateful for every visit, every recommendation, every celebration, and every kind word along the way.
"Thank you for being part of our journey.
"Finally, thank you to our incredible team who have worked so hard to help us build this amazing brand. We really couldn't have done it without you all! Let’s raise a glass together before we close our doors."
The restaurant has told customers that gift cards will still be honoured and ask people to get in touch to arrange a booking or a refund.
