ONE of Scotland's biggest free food festivals has been postponed due to severe weather.
Loch Lomond Springfest was set to take place on Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5, from 10am to 5pm each day, but a new date has been confirmed.
Organisers had hoped that despite the forecasted poor weather, the festival could still take place.
A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office as the forecaster predicts winds of up to 70mph affecting the area this weekend.
A spell of very strong winds is expected on Saturday, April 3 and overnight into Easter morning on Sunday, April 4, which may cause some damage and travel disruption.
The event has now been postponed until Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19 where people can expect a variety of food and drink producers, chef demonstrations, foraging workshops, and cocktail and mocktail classes.
It will also offer children's entertainment and music from Lomond Radio's team and buskers.
Food lovers can look forward to a wide range of street food and products from numerous vendors.
Audrey Calder from Loch Lomond Shores, said: “Forecasted windspeeds on Saturday night mean that it is no longer safe to install all the equipment and temporary structures that are a huge part of the festival.
“We had hoped that forecasted winds would drop but this has sadly not been the case.
"Given this, and that our number one priority is the safety of our visitors and festival team, Springfest will now take place on April 18-19, with hopefully better weather.”
