Proposals were resubmitted by Jim Lough (Surveying & Architectural Services) on behalf of Bluebell Ices Ltd to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority to use a parking bay next to the public toilets as a permanent space to sell ice cream, soft drinks and confectionery.
In May last year, the business, which has now been renamed as Luss Ices Ltd, was granted temporary permission by the park's planning bosses for one year.
It was previously reported that the owner had been running the business from next to the pier in the village until the introduction of the traffic management order in 2023.
They continued to receive daily fines, causing a significant overhead for the business until negotiations were made with Argyll and Bute Council.
In a supporting statement, which can be viewed publicly on the authority's website, it states that the business owner had hoped to use an electric van, but with delays in getting permission for the application last year, a trailer was used instead.
The report said: "The original intention had been to make use of an all electric ice cream van, however, owing to the difficulties and delays in obtaining a temporary approval last year, there were no longer any suitable vehicles available and a trailer was utilised.
"This necessitates the use of the adjacent parking space for a support vehicle.
"A long-term rental of this additional parking space, used to park a vehicle, was agreed with Argyll and Bute Council.
"It is understood that there have been no incidents relating to the trade over the last year that would indicate that the trading has presented any inconvenience, disturbance or loss of amenity to local residents and it is hoped that the temporary consent can now be made permanent.
"The proposal will allow for a continuation of an existing service provided to local residents and visitors in a safer manner than in previous years, where an ice cream van would serve pedestrians on a public road.
"The facility enhances the visitor experience in an area without creating any negative impact on local residents."
