AN award-winning brewery has unveiled its support for the Scotland national football team with a new drink.
Loch Lomond Brewery have created a limited-edition IPA called ‘We have a Dream’ - in tribute to the official Scotland song of the 1982 World Cup campaign.
The limited-edition five per cent US hopped IPA with juicy tropical fruit notes will be available in 440ml cans and in keg and stocked in a range of bars, tap rooms and bottle shops across Scotland.
Written and produced by BA Robertson and sung by Scottish actor John Gordon Sinclair joined by the 1982 Scotland squad, the song reached number five in the UK Singles Chart and was voted by listeners of BBC Radio Scotland and the Tartan Army as the number one Scottish football track of all time.
Proceeds from every can will go to the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal, the longest established charity funded by Scotland fans donating since 2003 to identified children’s charities in every country the Scottish National Football Team plays in.
Loch Lomond Brewery will be joined by a number of breweries who are also supporting the Tartan Army charity fundraiser.
There will be a tap takeover for all eight of the Sunshine Appeal brewery collaborators at locations in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
George Wotherspoon, head of sales and development for the company, said: “We have a dream” is undoubtedly the best Scotland football song ever – typically self-deprecating and full of Scottish wit, heart, pride and realism - it was a work of art.
"We wanted to celebrate it and another Tartan Army campaign with a really refreshing and spirited IPA that will be a great accompaniment to the greatest fans in the world.
"C’mon the Tartan Army, Come on Scotland – let’s make the dream come true!”
