A COMMUNITY cinema has created its own 'Helensburgh fan zone' for the World Cup matches.
The Tower Digital Arts Centre will be showing four of the FIFA World Cup matches that are due to take place over the next two weeks,
Scotland’s second group match of the FIFA World Cup against Morocco will be shown on the Sinclair Street cinema screen at 11pm on Friday, June 19.
Then the England versus Ghana game will be shown from 9pm on Tuesday, June 23 followed by the much-anticipated Scotland match against Brazil at 11pm on Wednesday, June 24.
The cinema's final event will be the England game against Panama at 10pm on Saturday, June 27.
Doors and the bar will be open one hour before kick-off and tea, coffee and snacks will also be available.
Entry is free, but donations would be gratefully appreciated.
Donna Hicks, campaigner for Save the Tower told the Advertiser: "We are calling this the Helensburgh Fan Zone and everyone is welcome, including children. Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.
"We really want to encourage families along to join in this celebration, cheering on Scotland on the world stage.
"We’ll be ready to cheer on our national team as we watch them on the big screen."
