A COMMUNITY space in Helensburgh is holding its first art fair for artists and creatives.

Burgh Yard hopes to champion local and Scottish artists with the launch of its art fair.

The event will take place from 10am until 4pm each day from August 28 until September 6.

Although there have been limited details published so far, organisers have confirmed that there will be a select few late-night openings during the fair.

The community space, which has a courtyard and creative studio at Rossdhu Place on West Princes Street, launched in May last year after months were spent renovating it.

Organisers are now looking for a range of artists who are keen to showcase their talent and skills at the event.

A spokesperson said: "We want to champion artists from Helensburgh, its surrounding area and of course elsewhere in Scotland.

"Championing creativity and cultivating community is at the heart of Burgh Yard. Can't wait to fill this space with lots of wonderful art in two weeks time.

"Located right in the centre of Helensburgh and set in a lovingly restored red brick Victorian factory and courtyard. Its double height rooms and white limewashed walls are the perfect contemporary backdrop to showcase art.

"Thank you to everyone who has already noted interest. We are incredibly grateful and will be in touch very shortly with further information. We hope to see you there."
