Dalkeith Country Park is bringing back its Spectacle of Light event and for 2022 there is a Treasure Island twist.

After last year's success, the country park will be hosting the magical after-dark family spectacular once again.

In celebration of Scotland’s Year of Stories 2022, this year’s theme will be inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island.

If you want to treat your family or friends to a festive adventure then here's everything you need to know.

Spectacle of Light returns to Dalkeith Country Park for 2022

You and your family - armed with a pirate map - can search for treasure in this nighttime adventure around the Fort Douglas adventure playground.

You will guide your fellow pirates through tunnels, down slides, along zip wires and over rope bridges.

Your little adventurers will be joined by a cast of characters inspired by the classic childhood tale.

Once you have worked up an appetite hunting for treasure, adults can fill up on some mulled wine alongside other festive treats including hot chocolate and giant marshmallows to toast at the fire pit.

Visitors will be able to pick up hot food from Fort Douglas and Restoration Yard too.
