The prizes have been confirmed for the Helensburgh Babcock 10k later this year.

The race, entering its second year under the new sponsorship will take place on Thursday, May 10 at 7.30pm, with May 17’s race in Dumbarton and the final race on Sunday, May 27 at Shettleston.

There will be more than £5,000 worth of category prizes for leading finishers, age groups and teams of three.

The first three male and female finishers will receive cash prizes of £125, £75 and £60.

There will also be time bonuses of a further £100 for the first male runner to break 30.00 minutes and female to break Fionaulua Ross’s series record of 34.25.

Wayney Ghebresilassie holds the men’s series record at 30.11 from last year, set on Glasgow Green. Runner’s at the sharp end will receive a £50 bonus for breaking a course record.

Fourth and fifth placed finishers get £50 and £40 of Start Fitness vouchers respectively, with sixth to 10th getting £20 of Start Fitness vouchers and running accessories.

Every series entrant will receive a specially designed Babcock 10k Series More Mile technical t-shirt, a set of gold, silver and bronze commemorative medals, a goody bag containing running accessories from Start Fitness and More Mile and two bottles of Strathmore water from AG Barr.
