ARDENCAPLE FC are set to celebrate their golden anniversary in style at their summer gala day in the town this Saturday.

The event will take place all day on August 11 at the East King Street playing fields.

Providing fun for all the family, each age group will get involved throughout the day with the younger age groups hosting mini tournaments and the older age groups playing matches against specially-invited guest opposition.

In addition to an all-day-long festival of football there will be lots of extra activities and attractions for folks of all ages to enjoy, including the I-Baller Carnival, beat the goalie, tombola, home baking, tuck shop, Kit-Recycling and a barbecue serving food and hot and cold drinks.

Starting at 9.30am and running all day until the final match kicks off around 6pm ,when Caple’s 2005s play host to a team visiting from the US, the gala day is open to everyone.

Caple chairman Craig Holborn commented: “We’re all looking forward to yet another fabulous Ardencaple FC gala day.

“However this year it’s a bit special since we are celebrating our golden anniversary as a club, having proudly served our community for the past 50 years since forming back in 1968.

“Everyone in the town and adjoining area are most welcome to come along and join in the fun – we look forward to seeing you.”

And this weekend’s Ardencaple action doesn’t end there: the club’s 2002 team are in action on Sunday, August 12, against a touring team from Morristown, New Jersey. Kick-off at Hermitage Academy is at 11am on Sunday, and all are welcome to come along.
