A FROSTY start on Sunday morning meant temporary winter greens being imposed on the first 10 holes as the Tennents Winter League at Helensburgh Golf Club entered week four of the competition.
Once temperatures rose, a fantastic day of sunshine, clear skies and little wind ensured the golfers enjoyed their day in such magnificent playing conditions.
Handicaps were cut in half to cater for the shortened course.
The winning pair of Alan Scott and club champion Peter Haggarty (pictured above) scored 44 stableford points with a better inward half over last week’s winners, Terry Smith junior and Craig Bonthrone, who substituted for Dominic Taylor.
Murray Waddell and Chris Thomas finished the day in third place in the standings with a very respectable 42 points.
Only four twos were recorded this week, where the qualifying holes were restricted to the 11th and 16th using the normal greens and generating six Pro Vs per two. Well done to the four twos scorers – Brett Loudfoot, Alan Scott, Ronald Ventilla and Terry Smith.
