THIRTY members of Druids Curling Club donned a fine array of festive jumpers and headgear for the last competition of 2018 – the Christmas Bonspiel at Greenacres.

This was a fun event with teams changing rinks after four ends to face new opponents.

After a conventional start there were ends where there was ‘no talking’ or ‘no sweeping’ allowed, and ends where only stones lying on one of the rings counted.

While the final scores were being totted up, the players enjoyed a very tasty buffet lunch prepared by the Greenacres staff.

The final result was a win for club president Rosemary Robertson’s rink of Helen Cameron, Ronnie Bell and Elma Hannah. The runners up were Jean Howie (skip), Wendy King, Sandra Cameron and Joy Murray.

The Benson Challenge got the club’s 2019 competitions under way on Wednesday.
