HELENSBURGH'S Gordon Reid saw his dreams of Australian Open glory ended on Thursday with defeat in the semi-finals of the men's wheelchair doubles.
Reid and his Grand Slam doubles partner, Alfie Hewett, were aiming for a third successive Grand Slam victory after their triumphs at Wimbledon and the US Open last year.

But their hopes were shattered after a 6-2, 7-5 defeat at the hands of France's Stephane Houdet and Ben Weekes of Australia in Melbourne.
It was Reid's second loss in two days at the hands of Houdet after he was defeated 7-6 (8), 5-7, 6-2 in Wednesday's singles quarter-final.
