TWENTY-FOUR members of Helensburgh Curling Club travelled to Greenacres Curling Rink in Renfrewshire last week for the club’s annual ‘away day’.

A full day of fun curling, with food and wine for those who wished, ensured an enjoyable away trip to the rink near Howwood, while the curling itself ranged from normal ends to silent ends and ends that involved no sliding out.

The day trip was organised by George Kerr, who was warmly thanked by all the participants for his efforts in making sure the day was enjoyed by everyone.

The winners on the day, by some margin, were the rink of Ewen Baird, Robbie Gall, Tim Tindal and Jim Rodgers, who are pictured being presented with prizes of bottles of wine by organiser George Kerr.

Helensburgh Curling Club plays at Braehead Curling Rink, Renfrew and is a friendly group of enthusiasts playing a full calendar of events throughout the season.

The club is actively seeking new members: if you are interested in joining up, please contact Helensburgh CC committee member Ian McArthur on 07881 652773, for further information.
