JONATHAN Clinch, Glen Nash, Malcolm Hyatt and Mike Tait won the final of Helensburgh Curling Club’s James Sharp Trophy.
After a series of round-robin league matches and play-offs involving the top four finishers, the Clinch rink fell behind early in the final against Donald McLaren (skip), Alex Clark, Rodger Scullion and Ian Docherty.
But at the third end the Clinch rink built up four counting stones, and added another four at the sixth end to open up a 10-3 lead, prompting the McLaren rink to concede defeat.
Ronnie Dunachie presented the trophy to the winners.
Meanwhile, Archie Fulton (skip), Ian McDonald, Glen Nash and Robin Irvine won the Super League tournament after a narrow win over John Laverty (skip), Ian McArthur, George Kerr and Eric Walker in the final.
Single shots were exchanged at the first two ends, and though the Laverty rink was able to draw for a three at the third end, the Fulton rink drew level with a three at the sixth end, before getting a lead stone inside the four-foot at the final end, guarding it closely to run out 7-6 winners.
Vice-president Ian McArthur presented the Salver Trophy to the winning rink.
