CARDROSS Golf Club captain Vicky Hendren made it a home triumph in the annual invitation greensomes competition held by the ladies’ section of the club.
Vicky teamed up with Milngavie Golf Club’s Davina Lavery to record a winning score of 69.2 – just enough to secure top spot ahead of another Cardross player, Lynne McDonald, and her team-mate Linda Bourhill of Carrick, who carded a total score of 69.4.
The podium places were completed by the Balmore Golf Club pair of Elizabeth Lawrie and Gaya McGreish, whose score of 73.4 was enough to win them third place.

Patricia Craig from the ladies’ section committee at Cardross said: “The course was in perfect condition, thanks to the hard work of the greens staff, and the hawthorn and rhododendron blossom was also much admired by our visitors.
“It was a most enjoyable and sociable day with excellent scores.”
In addition to the enjoyable day’s golf, the tournament raffle also saw a fine total of £265 raised for the Mary’s Meals charity.
