RHU Amateurs welcomed two legends of the Scottish game to their end-of-season awards ceremony and sportsman’s dinner last week.
A large crowd at the Rosslea Hall Hotel in the village on Friday night was entertained by ex Scotland manager Craig Brown and by former SPL and FIFA international list referee, and Dunbartonshire lawyer, Kenny Clark – both firm favourites on Scotland’s after-dinner speaking circuit.
READ MORE: Burns is on fire for Rhu in Westerlands winAt the end of a season which saw the club finish in fifth place in Division 1B of the Caledonian League, the club’s three awards were presented to players’ player of the year Adam Sharkey, manager’s player of the year Tam Connolly, and to Ali Maule, who was given a special award for his commitment to the club throughout a season which wasn’t short of its ups and downs.
Bobby Dunn from Rhu Amateurs said: “We would like to thank local businesses DCF Builders, Floorplan, Stewart and Shields, Sims Automatic, Murdoch Gardening Services, West Coast Group and Babcock International for their continued support.
“Special mention should go to the Rosslea Hotel and Lynn Graham for another terrific evening.”
