HELENSBURGH Golf Club played host to a highly unusual feat in one of the club's latest league fixtures after witnessing back-to-back holes in one.
In the 'Scratch League' team's home match against Clober, a visiting player holed in one at the 11th – and in the very next game, Helensburgh’s Peter Haggarty repeated the feat at exactly the same hole.
The match ended in a narrow win for the Helensburgh team, keeping alive their hopes of winning the title.

Barton was four clear of runner-up Alex Willoughby, while Robert Prideaux won the second class with 41 points, one ahead of Iain McKenna.
Derrick West took the third class prize on 39 points, one clear of Kenny Loch, while Angie McFarlane was a runaway winner of the ladies’ competition on 43 points, eight ahead of Gemma Canham and June Haggarty.
Tom Barton’s points haul won him the latest monthly mixed McDonald Medal competition, with Angie McFarlane second on 44.
In other league matches, Helensburgh’s ‘Five to Eight’ league team won all four games in their match at home to Milngavie.
The Seniors League team couldn’t match that, losing 3-1 at home to Vale of Leven, but the ladies had more success in their latest Allander League tie, recording a fine 3-2 win away to Dumbarton.
