ARDENCAPLE’S 2007 team bounced back from the disappointment of their Scottish Cup exit with a fine 6-0 league win over St Cadoc’s at Hermitage Academy.

Clearly still smarting from the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Drumchapel on September 7, Caple reverted back to their own preferred style of quick passing and on-the-deck football.

And it was evident the team had worked hard on that approach in training during the week, with solid, calm football from both the goalkeeper and the defence giving the midfield a solid platform, and the forwards freedom and confidence to play attractive and effective football.

Caple got their reward 15 minutes into the game when Jack Fleming pounced on a loose ball in the box and slotted home for the opener. – and five minutes later Ross Nikolic scored from outside the box, an approach which is fast becoming something of a trademark.

Caple’s team talk at half time was an easy one with the message from the coaches being “more of the same”.

From the re-start Caple were relentless, and they duly killed the match off with a goal from Corey Livingstone.
