GONE Wild, the under-13 team at Helensburgh’s G84 Junior Netball Club, came second in a closely-contested tournament at the weekend.

They won their section with some good team play, working hard to find space and marking really tightly.

Playing and winning the next match, they fought their way to the final.

This final match was tightly contested with G84 5-3 up at half time. However, the opposing team pulled it back to draw at full time.

An extra time of two minutes was played and again they were pipped at the post in the final seconds of a very tense but exciting match.

The players’ player of the tournament prize went to Niamh who worked tirelessly mid-court and the G84 coach’s player of the tournament prize was well deserved by Kate who gave 110 per cent, executed some amazing interceptions and found space well.

Meanwhile, big congratulation go to former G84 player Lucy Wilson for gaining a place in Netball Scotland’s National Academy programme.
