Video calls with former teammates and seeing footage of old Rangers goals are keeping Ibrox icon Lorenzo Amoruso busy during self-isolation.

But despite the devastating death toll, Amoruso is trying to keep his spirts high in the hope that the world can fight off the deadly disease in quick time.

Speaking to Jim White on talkSPORT, he said: “It’s a very very strange moment of life we can say that. In our imagination we have only seen things like this in movies or playstation games.

“It is unreal what the world is facing, especially in my country. We have lost so many people and doctors as well, it is crazy.

“My thoughts go out to those people who have lost their parents, grandparents and relatives in general. Our country has been hit really hard. But we are country who can fight to make things get better."

He added: “The season is gone. The whole season sports wise, not just football. For Italy especially, the way the country has been hit is horrible. I don’t think we will be going back to normality in a month’s time, it is impossible.
