Helensburgh Football Club's 2010s squad will be at their sparkling best on the pitch this year - thanks to the support of a new local shirt sponsor.

Helensburgh-based Argyll Exterior Cleaning covered the cost of a new set of strips for the young local footballers, who play their home games at Hermitage Academy.

The new kit got its first outing for a squad photo before training last week and then proved a good luck charm in its first match as the team defeated Clydebank Reds 3-2.

Thanking Argyll Exterior Cleaning, coaches David Young, Brian McKenna and Doug Moyes said: “We’re so grateful for the support of everyone at Argyll Exterior Cleaning.

“We simply couldn’t run our club without this backing. The girls and boys love the new strips and it was great to see them debut with a win!”

Robbie McNiven and Paul Rattray, from Argyll Exterior Cleaning, said: “As a Helensburgh company we are really pleased to give a little back to the community in this way and wish Helensburgh 2010s every success in their new strips.”
