Sharp made headlines when she won silver in the 800m at Glasgow 2014 — despite being ill and on a drip until 5.30am on the day of the final.

The 24-year-old will be joining the HAAC junior section for training where she will be a guest coach for the night. She will lead a sprinting workshop and will finish by offering some lucky juniors the chance to race against her over 800m.

She will then be hosting ‘An Evening with Lynsey Sharp’ at The Commodore where the star will be talking through her career highlights and answering questions from the audience.

There will also be the opportunity for those attending to have kit signed and photographs taken.

Club President, Laura Johnstone, said: “This is a unique opportunity for anybody interested in athletics, Glasgow 2014 or sport in general. We are very excited to be welcoming Lynsey to HAAC and I have no doubt that she will be very inspiring.

“The evening will be a one-off event which we are delighted to be able to share with members and non members”.

The evening is open to both members and non members (£4 charge for non members) but will be ticketed on a first come first served basis.

It was a very successful P7 boys race with both runners achieving podium finishes. Calum MacGilrvary cruised the course to claim individual gold followed by Hamish Paterson who made light work of the hilly course to claim the bronze medal.

In the girls race Jenny Hyde, Catie MacGilrvary and Chloe MacGuire all running exceptionally well. Not to be outdone by the boys’ medal haul the girls put in a sterling performance to clinch a team gold.
