THE 162nd annual flower show in Helensburgh was a blaze of colour as beautiful exhibits from adults and children alike packed the Victoria Hall.
The Helensburgh and Gareloch Horticultural Society's flower show was enjoyed by all who took part and by those who visited it on the day.
2 012 has been a very difficult year weather wise for gardeners and entries is some classes were understandably lower than in previous years.
However, the members managed to put on a good colourful show and, of course, the weather had less of an effect on the handicraft and photographic sections which were well supported and had a good number of entries, as did the baking and preserves sections.
Members are now looking forward to their monthly winter evening meetings where there will be a wide range speakers on subjects of interest to gardeners.
They also hope to have better weather in the spring and summer of 2013 and hope that the 163rd show will be a great success. Non members are always welcome at any meeting at a cost of 3 including Tea/Coffee and biscuits and you can also join the Society at any of these meetings.
