THE Team at RSPB Loch Lomond want people to join them for a safari with a difference.

They are looking for people to search for weird and wonderful creatures under log piles, in long grassy meadows and in the bushes and trees.

There is something for everyone to discover, from hopping frogs and fluttering butterflies to buzzing bees and worms.

Families will also be given their own Bug B and B to take away so that they can give nature a home on their own patch.

RSPB Scotland’s Emma Wilcock said “We have amazing areas for mini-beasts here and we want families to come out and explore the outdoors with us in the summer holidays.

“With bug hunting, sweep netting and branch shaking, we’re sure to find some interesting creatures lurking in the long grass and hiding in the mud.”

The drop in event will take place on July 31 between 11am and 2.30pm. Those who attend are asked to meet at the new visitor hub at RSPB Scotland Loch Lomond in Gartocharn.

The session costs £5 per child, with a 20 per cent discount for RSPB Wildlife Explorer members. Adults go free.

Those who attend are asked to prepare for the unpredictable Scottish weather and to wear wellies as it is an outdoor event.
