ESSENTIAL work is set to commence on the Duck Bay South Access Road Bridge on Monday.

Part of the bridge has deteriorated over time and the work which is part of Argyll and Bute Council's Bridge Strengthening Programme, is expected to be completed by Friday, March 31.

A section of the U023 road, near Loch Lomond, between the mini roundabout at the entrance to Cameron House, and the entrance to the public car park opposite Duck Bay Hotel, will be closed.

The pedestrian footpath and national cycle path will remain open. There will be no through road.

Traffic management measures will be in place for the duration of the works, to minimise disruption to local traffic and businesses.

Drivers are asked to follow the signposted diversions into each hotel.

Vehicles traveling to Cameron House Hotel should enter from the south access between the U023 and the A82. Vehicles traveling to Duck Bay Marina, The Cruin, and the Water's Edge B&B are advised to enter via the north access between U023 and the A82 near the Arden roundabout.

Argyll and Bute council apologise for any convenience the work may cause.
