TRAIN services on the West Highland Line via Helensburgh Upper will be disrupted until next week because of a landslip.

Debris on the tracks between Gilshochill and Possilpark & Parkhouse stations, in the north of Glasgow, caused major disruption to services on Tuesday - and ScotRail now says repairs to the line and the adjacent embankment are expected to last for seven days.

At present normal services on the routes between Glasgow and Oban, Fort William and Mallaig are not expected to resume until Wednesday, April 12.

All trains on the West Highland Line to the south of Crianlarich are being replaced by buses calling at all the usual stations on the route

But ScotRail says that any passengers travelling from Glasgow Queen Street to Helensburgh Upper, Garelochhhead, Arrochar and Tarbet, and Ardlui stations should board a local train service from Queen Street to Dalmuir to catch the connecting replacement bus service.

The following train services will connect into buses at Dalmuir calling at Dumbarton Central, Helensburgh Upper, Garelochead, Arrochar and Tarbet, Ardlui and Crianlarich.

0731 from Queen Street Low Level to Dalmuir will connect in with the 0815 bus.

0936 from Queen Street Low Level to Dalmuir will connect in with the 1030 bus.

1136 from Queen Street Low Level to Dalmuir will connect in with the 1218 bus.

1536 from Queen Street Low Level to Dalmuir will connect in with the 1630 bus.

1731 from Queen Street Low Level to Dalmuir will connect in with the 1810 bus.

Tuesday's West Highland Line disruption added to an already difficult day for people travelling between Glasgow and stations in the Helensburgh, Lomond and Dunbartonshire areas after an object got caught in the overhead wires on the busy stretch of track at Hyndland station.

That disruption was resolved by mid-afternoon on Tuesday and services on those suburban routes are now running normally.
