RESIDENTS in Helensburgh took to social media at the weekend to find out what caused disruption on Sunday morning.
People in Helensburgh and Cardross heard what they thought was an explosion around 8.15am and took to Facebook to find out what the source of the noise was.
Deborah Fleming asked: "Did anyone else hear an explosion type noise about 0815 this morning? It made our windows rattle."
Rachael Peddie-Temple, said: "My dogs woke me up at that time. So I'm guessing they heard it."
Marion McCormick said: "Heard two in Cardross at 0816."
They were informed that the cranes at Inchgreen Dock, Greenock were demolished by explosions on Sunday morning changing the Inverclyde skyline.
The iconic landmarks were flattened on Sunday morning, with around 20 homes evacuated for the blast around an exclusion zone.
