LOCAL bird watchers will have a chance to see some of Loch Lomond's resident goose population in their winter habitat at a sunrise walk this weekend.

The event takes place on Saturday, November 4 from 6.30am to 9am, beginning at the RSPB Scotland's Loch Lomond nature hub at Gartocharn.

A spokesperson for RSPB Scotland Loch Lomond, said: “Thousands of geese spend the winter months feeding and roosting around the Loch Lomond area.

“Join the team for an early morning woodland walk along to one of their favourite roosting spots.

“As the sun comes up, watch as the geese move on to their daytime feeding areas. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear and bring torches and binoculars if you have them.

“Some of this event will involve standing for periods of time so remember to wrap up well.”

Booking is essential and for more information email loch.lomond@rspb.org.uk or call 01389 830670. Cost is Adult: £7, Child £3.50 (members £5.50 / £3)
