PLANS have been unveiled for the demolition of an annex building at Kilcreggan Primary School – and the building of a new classroom extension in its place.

Argyll and Bute Council's plans, published on the authority's own website, also include building associated access stairs and a decking area at the school's pre-5 classroom as part of the proposed works.

The council also proposes to resurface the school playground.

The planning application proposes no increase in the number of car parking spaces at the school.

The 'neighbour consultation expiry date' on the application is Friday, December 22, while a decision is expected by Friday, January 26.

Council statistics show the school roll at Kilcreggan has increased by 6.5 per cent over the last five years – from 77 pupils in 2012-13 to 82 in 2016-17.
