Who's won the Helensburgh Advertiser's wedding competition?

Big congratulations to Shirley Spalding and Steven Courtney who have won their fairy tale wedding at the stunning Lodge on the Loch Hotel on the shore of Loch Lomond

The package includes a wedding for 80 guests worth over £5,000.

“No way!” Shirley exclaimed on hearing the news. “I can’t believe it! I’m absolutely over the moon.

“I can’t thank our friends and family enough, the amount of support we’ve received has been so so amazing.”

Shirley and Steven have been together since 2016 after meeting through mutual friends.

The couple have been engaged for just under a year after Steven popped the question at The White Tower in a hot tub under the open starry sky.

“Our lives have been taken over by this these past few weeks, and to know that all our family and friends hard work has paid off is an incredible feeling.

“I work on the railway and Helensburgh is my local station, and I have been telling everyone about the competition.

"Both staff and passengers have got involved too to help support us, not forgetting to buy the paper and hand in the vouchers.

“When we met the other couples, I couldn’t believe how lovely they all were. It made me realise every one of them deserved to win this too.

“I have butterflies in my stomach. I can’t tell you how happy we are – this has made our Christmas!”

The Lodge on Loch Lomond’s scenic waterfront location is a highly sought-after venue and a long-standing romantic setting.

The couples who came second and third in our competition have also won complimentary canapes and evening buffets for 80 guests worth over £1,000 each.
