A toe-tapping selection of music has helped raise funds for two good causes.

A packed audience at an annual charity night held by The Clyde Trefoil Guild was entertained by the Alexandria Mandolin Group.

The concert included music from the shows, Scottish country music and jazz numbers, and a supper was provided by the Guild members.

At the end of the evening in the Guide hall, Trefoil chair, Edna Armstrong, was delighted to announce that the sum of £560 had been raised.

On April 4, a cheque for £280 from Clyde Trefoil Guild, half the proceeds of the night, was presented to James Street Community Garden to help towards the restoration work being carried out.

The balance was donated to the local Guide campsite to help provide facilities for local girls.

These donations were made to mark the 75th anniversary of the Trefoil Guild Movement and the 25th anniversary of Trefoil Guild in Helensburgh.

The main aim of the Clyde Trefoil Guild is to support Girlguiding in Helensburgh.

As well as opportunities to support Guiding and the community, it provides friendship, fun and activities for its members.

Membership offers opportunities to meet with friends, develop interests and tackle new challenges.

The Guild always welcomes new members.

If you have ever been a Brownie, Guide, Ranger or a Guider you are invited to go along and join the group which meets in the Brownie Hall in John Street, Helensburgh, at 7.30pm on the first Wednesday of the month.

In addition, many members meet every Monday at 10.30am in the Commodore for coffee.
