Today's Archive Hour takes a look at our reporting of a visit to Helensburgh by Richard Trait.
***********
PLANS by Helensburgh businessman Phil Worms to harness the potential of the area’s rich heritage for the benefit of the community have been endorsed by one real-life Helensburgh hero — US-based entrepreneur Richard Tait.
The Seattle-based businessman, creator of the board game, Cranium, learned of the drive to celebrate the Burgh’s famous sons and daughters under the ‘Helensburgh Heroes’ banner during a visit to Scotland last month.
Richard, who flew in specially from the USA to be keynote speaker at the Helensburgh and Lomond Chamber of Commerce’s John Logie Baird Lunch, told the Advertiser: “I think instilling a sense of pride and inspiration in kids in any community is super important. I think Phil’s ideas are great and will galvanise everyone around the Helensburgh Heroes.”
