HELENSBURGH’S Lions Club has a new president in the shape of Graham Henderson.
Past president Mel Newton recently handed over the chain of office to Graham, who has been the club’s treasurer for many years.
Graham is already busy planning some of the activities which will mark the 55th anniversary of the formation of the club, starting with its annual senior citizens’ tea in early October.
Formed in 1964, Helensburgh is now the longest-established Lions Club in Scotland. The Lions Club movement has around 1.35 million members around the globe and assists with humanitarian aid, youth education and supporting community groups.
