A CHARITY carnival in Helensburgh to raise cash for the Robin House children's hospice near Loch Lomond is now less than a month away.

Helensburgh's Morrisons supermarket is playing host to the event on Saturday, August 20 as part of its charity tie-up with Children's Hospices Across Scotland, the organisation which runs the Balloch hospice.

The day will feature funfair rides, emergency vehicles, stalls, live music, games and much more.

As well as CHAS, there will be lots of Helensburgh charities present at the event, with Fun First, Gareloch RDA, SSAFA, Jean’s Bothy, Grey Matters Active Ageing, Helensburgh Community Hub, Helensburgh & Lomond Autism, Visiting Friends and Alzheimer Scotland's Helensburgh Dementia Resource Centre all invited to have a stall at the event

On top of that, there will be funfair rides, emergency vehicles, the chance to shoot some hoops with Helensburgh Netball Club and to ‘beat the goalie’ with Helensburgh FC, as well as a sponge-throwing stall and raffle .

Entry is free and everyone is being urged to dress as a superhero if they can.

The event takes place from 10am until 3pm in the car park of the supermarket in Cardross Road.
