FLUFFY friends were centre stage recently, as a pet blessing service took place at St Michael and All Angels Church in Helensburgh.
The event, October 1, marked the feast day of St Francis of Assisi on October 4.
More than 20 dogs, a cat, budgies and a pony called Dolly attended the service and received a blessing from Rev Dominic Ind.
Fiona Baker gave a talk on the faithfulness of animal companions, their loyalty and unconditional love, and related the story of the 13th century St Guinefort the Greyhound,
The annual service recognises and celebrates the important role pets play as loyal and beloved companions.
