Panto is set to return to Helensburgh this Christmas, with rehearsals well underway for shows at Victoria Halls.

Helensburgh Theatre Arts will perform ‘Bairns in the Woods’ at 7:30pm from December 8-10. There will also be a matinee on Saturday, December 10 at 2:30pm.

The story follows the panto’s baddie, Baron Field, who wishes to kill young Jack and Jill in order marry their sister, Lady Marion, and inherit their father’s money.

To do so, Baron, played by Kyle Rapallini, recruits the evil Child Catcher who lives in a cottage in the middle of the woods.

However, Lady Marion’s boyfriend, Robbie, enlists the help of his Merry Men in a bid to save the day.

The pantomime was written for the group by Derek Bannon, with additional support by Kyle and Nina Rapallini.

Director Alison Holliman said: “It is wonderful to be back after three years of not being able to do a show and we are glad to have some old troupers return, like mother and son Louise and Nathan Press playing our comedy duo, Duck and Dive.”

Tickets for the show are on sale now priced from £9-£11, plus a booking fee. They will also be on sale for half an hour before each performance.
