SHONA and Sandy Bulloch made home advantage count in the first open competition of the season at Helensburgh Golf Club.

The Seniors Rosebowl, a stableford pairs greensomes event sponsored by Helensburgh Floorplan, attracted 28 pairs from 10 different golf clubs, all enjoying kind weather, the quality of the course, convivial company and superb views.

Some excellent scores were recorded through the course of the event, but Shona and Sandy won the day with an impressive 42 stableford points, using their knowledge of the Helensburgh course’s tricks and challenges to great effect.

They finished two points clear of two more Helensburgh pairs, Bobbie Latham and Malcolm Hyatt and Babs Robertson and Ian Shields, both of whom finished on 40 points.

The generosity of the participants saw £240 raised in a raffle on the day, with the proceeds going to CHAS.
